MAIN, J. -- The plaintiff brought this action to require the commissioners of the city of Walla Walla to issue it a permit for the construction of a gasoline service station. The trial resulted in a denial of the application and a judgment dismissing the action, from which the plaintiff appealed. Section one of the zoning ordinance of the city defines a residential district as any district within the limits of the city where seventy-five per cent of the property is used, or intended to be used, for residential purposes.
