Three appeals, by petitions under the provisions of Revised Laws, chapter 414 , sections 6 and 7, from a decision of the Public Utilities Commission (D-R 3152) of May 20, 1952, and a supplemental decision of June 10, 1952, and accompanying orders No. 6072 and 6083, fixing increased permanent rates to be charged by the defendant. The decision and orders of the commission arise out of a new electric tariff calculated to produce a revenue increase of $1,600,000 filed by the company in October, 1951, pursuant to Revised Laws, chapter 292 , section 3, as amended. The commission suspended this tariff, pending investigation and hearing, under the provisions of Revised Laws, chapter 292 , section 6, as amended. Simultaneously with the filing of the tariff referred to above, the company filed a petition for emergency rate relief under the provisions of Revised Laws, chapter 292 , section 10, as amended. Following the decision in Petition of Public Service Co., 97 N.H. 549, the petition was amended to one for temporary rate relief under Revised Laws, chapter 292 , sections 27 and 29, as amended. Previously the appellant company had received a rate increase of approximately $633,000 in July, 1951, and a further temporary increase resulting from the petition for temporary relief estimated to return the company $765,000.
